5th Annual KABB Meeting
2022 was a year of firsts. That was the first year we held out annual meeting at the Shelbyville Conference and Welcome Center. This was our first meeting post Covid and several attendees were still masking and practicing social distancing. Also, the year I gave my first presentation with KABB.
We were lucky to have Dr. Neil Blumberg, MD join us as the keynote speaker. At the time he was a professor of Pathology and Laboratory medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. While also being the director of transfusion medicine and blood bank at the Strong Medical Hospital.
Dr. Blumberg gave a fascinating presentation on Transfusion Immunomodulation. The meeting was led by our president Dr. Dennis Willaims. Dr. Williams was also gave a presentation on new FDA regulations as they pertain to blood banks.
